Gabe Corey scores both goals for the Ramblers; plus more soccer and field hockey recaps from Friday.

WINTHROP — Gabe Corey scored two goals — one in each half — to direct Winthrop to a 2-1 victory over Buckfield in a boys soccer game on Friday.

Corey scored early in the first half off of a breakaway, but the Bucks (1-3-1) tied it at 1-1 when Justin Lucas scored off a corner kick with 15 minutes to go before halftime.

Corey’s second goal came after a through pass from Iker Penniman in the second half.

Ramblers (3-2) goalie Jackson August made six saves.

MT. ABRAM 7, CARRABEC 1: Bear Rollins turned in a hat trick and Morgan Thibodeau scored two goals in the Roadrunners’ (5-1) victory over the Cobras (2-3) in North Anson.

Payton Mitchell and Charlie Pye each added a goal and Kayden Pillsbury was Mt. Abram’s setup man, earning three assists. Sam Cockerham earned two assists.Advertisement

Seth Price scored Carrabec’s lone goal, with the assist going to Lucan Vicniere.

HALL-DALE 4, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN/DIRIGO 0: Hall-Dale (3-2) used a balanced attack as four different players scored to beat the Phoenix (1-5) in a Mountain Valley Conference boys soccer game at Farmingdale.

Nick Brown, Keegan Carey, Breton Lucas and Ihsan Abdalnabi each had a goal for the Bulldogs. Jackson Leach and Ben Nathan combined to make seven saves.

Nate Holland stopped seven shots for the Phoenix.

YORK 4, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Nick Mauro had two goals and two assists, and Nick Hoy also scored twice as the Wildcats (1-2-1) beat the Patriots (3-2) at Gray.

Max Kenney and Luka Rosolino scored for Gray-New Gloucester. Aidan Hebert had an assist.Advertisement

GIRLS SOCCER YORK 2, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: The Wildcats (2-2-1) rallied for two goals in the second half to earn a draw against the Patriots (1-2-2) in York.

Chloe DeLuca kicked a 40-yard floater that sailed over goalie Isabelle Ross and under the crossbar with 16:58 left, and Chloe Bourque tied it on a penalty kick with 6:27 remaining after a defender was called for a handball.

Isabelle Morelli scored both goals for Gray-New Gloucester. She chipped one in from 10 yards at 12:32, then was credited with a goal six minutes later after a York defender’s clearing attempt went off Morelli’s leg and between the legs of keeper Ella Hickey.

FIELD HOCKEY OAK HILL 6, TELSTAR 0: Lexi Pelky scored a pair of goals as the Raiders (2-4) shut out Telstar (0-5) in Bethel.

Julie Mooney, Saryn Blais, Siera Lane and Mia Valure each scored a goal for Oak Hill. Vallure, Izzy Whitaker, Pelky and Gabby Renn each picked up an assist.

Oak Hill’s Ella Martin made four saves to preserve the win.

YARMOUTH 2, POLAND 1: Sophie Smith got the winner in overtime to give the Clippers (2-3) a victory over the Knights (1-4) in Yarmouth.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1, WELLS 0: Emma Bowden got the only goal to lift the Patriots (3-3) over the Warriors (1-3) in Gray.
