A sporty footwear trend that has been taking the fashion world by storm for years, the sliders are a popular favorite for summer days and kicking back at home alike. But one pet owner has delighted the internet after creating a miniature version of this much-loved shoe for their cat.

Posted on March 7 on Instagram, the delightful video of the cat's custom Nike slides has delighted internet users. With over 650,000 likes and over 11 million views, the video has since been reposted and shared around the world.

Starring Nacho the cat, Daniela—who runs the Instagram account mochithecatto— posted the video with the caption: "Look at Nachos new Nikes"—it has since gained thousands of delighted comments and reactions.

One Instagram user wrote: "Exclusive AirPaws 1's," while another said: "No way that is too cute."

Daniela is 29-years-old and lives in Germany with her two British Shorthair cats Mochi, who is 2 and a half, and Nacho who is 1 and a half. She told Newsweek: "The slippers are made from their brushed fur. I saw a video on Instagram with just a slipper and I thought it would be cute to add the little Nike Swoosh on top of it."

In a trend report put together by e-commerce retailer Zulily, it was reported that millennial pet owners are most likely to spoil their furry companions. An overwhelming 92 percent of millennials who own pets say they buy them gifts, and 51 percent admit they do so on a monthly basis. Millennials are also twice as likely to purchase clothes for their pets than older pet owners.

"This is so cute where can I get a pair," said one commenter, while another wrote: "Oh my! This is pawsome!"

The two cats have a loving online following, with over 133,000 followers around the world on their Instagram account. Daniela has been sharing new kitty content every day since October 2019.

"I love sharing funny and cute videos of my boys," she said. "I get a lot of feedback from my community that they love watching their daily stories and pictures, and I'm really happy to brighten their day."

Overjoyed by the trending feline, one Instagram fan wrote: "What a trendsetter," and another joked: "Nacho these shoes look so good on you!"

For making your own pair of DIY cat slides, there is plenty of advice online for how to create new things with your pet's hair. Japanese author Kaori Tsutaya even released a book in 2011 titled Crafting With Cat Hair that details how owners can create cute handicrafts using their cat's brushed or shed fur.

In February, another cat caught attention online when his stylish custom crochet "cat-igan" left internet users in stitches.
